How do I organize my trip?

Budapest Dental Practice will help you make all arrangements for your dental trip. A description of the services we provide are given here: Step by Step Guide to Arranging a Visit.

Where can I stay?

Budapest Dental Practice offers a choice of Hotels. We have negotiated special rates which are available when booking through us. However, if you are not happy with our choices, we can also help you to make a booking at any Budapest Hotel. For full details on your accommodation options click here.

How long should I stay for?

In all cases, a Consultation is necessary before treatment can be undertaken. It is possible to fly into and out of Budapest on the same day for the Initial Consultation.

The Consultation at our Surgery is free of charge and would inform you of your treatment options, the exact cost and time scale, including healing time (if necessary) and the number of visits that may be required.

Most patients prefer to come for the Consultation and proceed with treatment on the same visit, usually a 4-5 day stay. Alternatively once the Consultation has taken place you can return at a later date to begin your treatment.

What about the language barrier?

The dentists, nurses and all support staff at our clinic in Budapest speak English.

How much money can I save?

Depending on the treatment you receive, your savings will be up to 40-70% compared to UK prices. Even with travel and accommodation costs, your will save a substantial amount whilst enjoying a holiday in one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe. For further information on savings, please check out our price section.

How do I pay for my treatment?

We ask for no money up front and no deposits for any dental treatment. You settle at the end of each stage of treatment at the Clinic. You can pay in Sterling, Euros, Hungarian Forints, or with any major credit card.

What are the credentials of your dentists?

Hungarian dentists are famous throughout the world for their high qualification, expertise and practical experience so their credentials are up to par with any of those in the western countries. All our dentists are registered with the Hungarian Chamber of Dentists. View our 'Dental Team' page for profiles of all our staff.

What if something goes wrong after I have left Hungary?

The dental practice guarantees all work carried out. We do not accept liability for any unforeseen root canal treatment after having tooth/teeth prepared for crown & bridgework.

Who else goes to Hungary for their dental treatment?

Hungary is a very popular destination for dental tourism. Every year thousands of people travel to Hungary for dental treatment from all over Europe including Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Holland, Denmark as well as the UK and Eire.

Where can I spend my free time?

Budapest is reqarded as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and offeres a wide range of activites. To help you make the most of your time in Hungary a full programme of excursions is available to book directly from your hotel. For things to do in Budapest, check out our Sightseeing in Budapest section.

Is dental implant surgery painful?

No. An effective local anaesthetic is used during the surgery so that you do not experience any discomfort during the placement of the implants. The mild discomfort you might experience after surgery can be controlled with mild painkillers.

If I am missing several teeth do they each have to be replaced with a separate implant?

No. If you are missing several teeth they do not each have to be replaced with a separate implant. Although implants are artificial roots one implant can be used to replace one or more teeth by way attaching bridgework to the implant. However, patients’ needs vary and the number of implants needed for any particular patient will be determined by a number of clinical factors.

I have a full denture, is it possible to replace this using implants?

Yes it is. To restore one jaw (upper or lower) normally requires 6 implants followed by 12 units of bridgework at a later stage. Patient can normally wear their denture while the treatment is in progress.
